pool table lamps 04 by Articles Exposed

In a bar, ambiance is everything. Although many of my colleagues spend a lot of money traveling the world looking for exotic forms of liquor or learning new drink recipes, I take a more practical approach. I make my tavern look as good as it can look. That means new counter tops, lots of good games, comfortable yet slick looking furniture, and most importantly, good pool table lighting.
You wouldn't believe how much difference which pool table lamps you put up makes. The right pool lighting can change your bar from a rec room to a real night out. Before I got new pool table lamps, I had the pool room lit with bright track lighting. I figured that the pool players would appreciate being able to see what they were doing clearly. I notice that they would never buy very many drinks. One of my good friend suggested that it was the lack of a pool table lamp that was the problem. Although I thought he was crazy at first, he convinced me that creating the right ambiance with pool table lamps made it look less like a game room and more like a bar. If people were reminded that it was a bar, they would drink.
You wouldn't believe how well those pool table lamps worked. I tried a different kind on every table. There was a second hand store down the street that had all kinds of junk. In the back, they had one of the most extensive collections of billiard lamps that I'd ever seen. There were pool table lamps from almost every era. I decided on trying a few different styles. I got three pool table lamps. One advertised Budweiser, the second, Jameson whiskey, and the third had no advertisement at all. It was made out of false stained glass, reflecting different reds and blues darkly along the table beneath it.
It was amazing what an effect the pool table lamps had on the customers. Not only were they buying more booze, but they were playing more pool as well. The most interesting part of it was the way that the different pool table lamps changed their behavior. The young guys out trying to pick up girls almost always went under the alcoholic pool table lamps, especially the Budweiser one. The girls, however, as well as the slightly older customers out in couples went under the colored glass pool table light. The serious drinkers went under the Jameson one.
